Andy Green drives the Napier Railton
The Napier Railton is a priceless land-speed record car. In outstanding original condition, it was designed, built and raced at Brooklands in the 1930’s. Holding the lap record and the record for the fastest speed at Brooklands, the Napier-Railton is one of the most important Brooklands Museum exhibits.
On 17th April 2022, Allan Winn briefed Andy Green on how to drive the car in preparation for a drive at the Brooklands Museum Centenary event for the 350hp Sunbeam in two days time. Allan is the Brooklands Museum Works Driver and briefing the current World Land Speed Record holder on the Napier Railton was a special moment. Monitoring engine temperature and maximum rpm are key with the Napier-Railton but Andy took it all in his stride and enjoyed the drive.
