BWC joins British Watch & Clockmakers
As a uniquely British brand with a British heritage, Brooklands Watch Company is proud to announce that we have become a member of British Watch & Clockmakers. “There’s been a huge resurgence in British watchmaking,” says the organisation’s founding director Mike France, CEO of Christopher Ward watches. “We saw a real opportunity to forge our vision of how watchmaking should be in Britain today in the 21st century.”
Launched in November 2020, the Alliance’s aim is to encourage and guide this renewed energy in our sector, and to provide a voice for our members. This collaborative spirit has gained pace over the last three years. As the sector’s official trade body, British Watch & Clockmakers represents 75 watch and clock making brands trading across the British Isles (including the Republic of Ireland).
The Alliance’s chairman is acclaimed British watchmaker Roger Smith OBE. He outlines its four aims: “First, we want to promote British watch and clock making around the world. Second, we aim to provide a powerful voice for our sector. Third, we want to champion British provenance, and fourth we aim to encourage British supply chain jobs and technology.”
At Brooklands Watch Company, we wholeheartedly share the organisation’s belief in the bright future ahead for British watch and clock making, and we’re delighted to make the commitment to join hands for the journey ahead. Above all, the organisation wants to raise awareness of British watch and clock making to collectors – so if you’re a watch enthusiast, follow the Alliance on Instagram @britishwatchmakers – and don’t forget to follow us @brooklandswatches too.
